Bladder & Bowel UK announces launch of two new awards for excellence in continence care and product innovation

Bladder & Bowel UK are pleased to announce the launch of two new awards to highlight excellence within the world of continence promotion and care.

Awards for excellence in continence care

Against the ongoing challenges that bladder and bowel services face across the country, these awards are a chance to celebrate the people and products that make a difference to the day-to-day experiences of those living with bladder and bowel difficulties, and to inspire continued excellence and innovation in both continence care and product development.

The Bladder & Bowel UK Product Innovation Award

The Bladder & Bowel UK Product Innovation Award recognises the development of products which use innovation in design to improve the quality of life of people with bladder and/or bowel issues. It will be judged by a panel including clinicians who specialise in bladder and/or bowel care, representatives from research and academia, and members of the public living with bladder and/or bowel issues. Bladder & Bowel UK are delighted that the judging panel will be headed by Alan Cottenden, Emeritus Professor of Incontinence Technology, UCL.

The Bladder & Bowel UK Clinical Excellence Award

The Bladder & Bowel UK Clinical Excellence Award rewards the exceptional work of an individual or team working in the field of bladder and/or bowel health within the NHS or independent sector, celebrating the demonstrable positive impact they have made to their patients or clients. The award will be judged by experts and clinicians who specialise in bladder and/or bowel care.

The awards will be officially launched at the Bladder & Bowel UK Continence Symposium on Wednesday 9th March at Bolton Arena.

Bladder & Bowel UK offer support for bladder and bowel health for everyone. They provide confidential advice from specialist nurses and product experts. Information on preventing and dealing with bladder and bowel issues can be found online at www.bbuk.org.uk.
