WHY
Greater focus on education, sharing original research findings, and promoting excellence in bladder and bowel care at our highly anticipated national symposia.
We want to celebrate and raise awareness of your work among healthcare professionals dedicated to bladder and bowel care in both paediatric and adult fields.
WHO
The presentation is for researchers or clinicians involved in bladder and bowel health/care who register and attend our symposia.
WIN
The presentations will be judged, and the winner(s) announced on the same day as the symposia. The winner(s) will receive a group certificate and a award

How to enter
Abstract submission
Abstracts will be accepted via our online form for:
- Original research or audit
- Innovative quality improvement initiatives
- Innovative service development initiatives.
Delegates must attend the symposia where they wish their work to be presented.
Submission details
Submit an abstract of your research or project.
This should be a maximum of 500 words and may be relevant to adult or paediatric bladder and bowel care or health.
You may include one supporting document, which is to be emailed separately in a Word doc or PDF format.
Timelines
Work must have been undertaken or published within the 18 months preceding the Bladder & Bowel UK National Symposia.
National Symposium Midlands – work undertaken or published since March 2025. Submissions close on 5 June 2026.
National Symposium North West – work undertaken or published since September 2025. Submissions close on 9 January 2027.

Successful abstracts
Applicants whose abstracts are accepted will be invited to display a poster at the selected Bladder & Bowel UK Symposia.
Posters must be prepared by the person/group that submitted the abstract and be of A0 size (841mm wide x 1189mm high)
Posters must be portrait orientation – we are unable to display posters in landscape orientation. Velcro tabs will be provided for you to attach your poster to the board provided within the exhibition hall.
Posters must be displayed throughout the time that the exhibition is open.
You will be responsible for collecting your poster at the end of the exhibition. Bladder & Bowel UK are unable to return posters that are not collected.
You are encouraged to be near your poster while the exhibition is open so that you can engage with delegates about your work.
Posters should:
- Be clear and legible with a minimum 24 point font
- Have a maximum of 750 words
- Include the logo of your institution, your name and that of any colleagues involved in the project, acknowledgements and ethics approval (if relevant)
Judging
Abstract judging will be undertaken by the Bladder & Bowel UK clinical team. Those shortlisted will be invited to exhibit a poster in the exhibition area at the Bladder & Bowel UK national symposium.
Poster presentation judging will be conducted by delegates attending the symposium, and the winner(s) will be announced during the day.
